A SALCOMBE florist is celebrating after winning a competition for the best dressed royally inspired shop window.
Penelope Shepard, owner of Flowers from Penelope, won the competition as part of the town's Diamond Jubilee celebrations by displaying decorations such as union flags and a crown made of flowers.
23 businesses took part in the four day competition, which was judged by Salcombe Town Mayor Cllr Toger Moore, his wife Margaret, and local artist Bobbi Flucher-Smith.
Miss Shepard was presented with a commemorative trophy at ther Main Road shop by Cllr Moore and manager of Salcombe Tourist Information Centre, Sharon Mattocks, after creating 'an artistic display with an eclectic mix of royal items'.
Mrs Mattocks said: 'We were very impressed with the number of entrants and the variety of the displays. The enthusiasm of all those invloved contributed to the celebratory atmosphere in the town throughout the weekend. Many businesses should be highly commended for their efforts in the competition'.
